The centre is aware of the fundamental role of the entrepreneurial sector as producer of economic and social welfare and therefore it assumes indeed as its own the technological solutions requested by its client companies and which should always result in a clear competitive advantage for the industrial segment. The symbiotic relationship between L’Urederra and the entrepreneurial sector has resulted in the completion since 2001 of more than one hundred long-range research projects at both national and European levels.
To fulfil its purpose of providing the companies with quality services, L’Urederra is endowed with industrial-size singular equipment suitable to allow pilot-scale productions and therefore to supply the industrial sector with raw or semi-elaborated materials in sufficient amounts to manufacture pre-industrial test series. Among the pilot production systems available at L’Urederra, it is worth to mention the existing semi-industrial lines for plastic processing, high-capacity chemical reactors and semi-industrial nanoparticle production line based on high-versatility pyrolysis, the largest in Europe using this very advanced technology.
The industrial focus of L’Urederra is also manifest in the fact that, despite its youth, the Centre has already applied for three patents and it holds 50% shares of a new spin-off company devoted to the production of advanced nanoparticles.
L’Urederra has also gained a reputation of excellence at European level, being at the moment the coordinator of three projects within the European Framework Programmes for Research and Technological Development, and participating also with an important weight in many other activities of international research.
L’Urederra is recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science as Innovation and Technology Centre, and listed with the number 98 in the official Spanish catalogue of Technological Centres. L’Urederra is also a member of the networks RETECNA (Network of Technological Centres in Navarre), EIBT (Technology-Based Innovative Enterprises) Network of Navarre, FEDIT (Spanish Federation of Contract Research Centres), NanoSpain, Pymera and RICAI, as well as the technological platforms SUSCHEM SPAIN (sustainable chemistry), PESI (industrial safety), PTEC (construction sector), BIOPLAT (biomass) and SERTEC (automotive components).
